Three citizens, including a Baloch sukhtbar, were injured following a collision between two vehicles in Sefidabeh.
According to Kolbarnews, citing Balochistan sources, on the evening of Sunday, June 2, 2024, a Saipa Nissan sukhtbari vehicle and a passing Peugeot 405 collided one kilometer north of Sefidabeh in Baluchestan, resulting in injuries to three people, including one sukhtbar.
As of the time of reporting, the identities of the injured individuals remain unknown.
Local sources stated: “At 9 PM last night, one kilometer from Sefidabeh, a Saipa Nissan and a Peugeot 405 collided, injuring three passengers. The occupants of the Peugeot 405 were from Qaen, and the driver of the Saipa, a Baloch sukhtbar from Cheshmeh Ziarat in Zahedan, was transported to the hospital by ambulance.”
Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have resorted to out of lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturning, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars in this profession. According to reports from Baloch activists in 2023, at least 172 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, and 42 others were injured in these incidents, including 11 children
