A collision between two Sukhtbari pickup trucks on the Saravan-Kouhak road resulted in the vehicles catching fire, leaving four people, including two children, dead and one person injured.
According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, a crash between two Sukhtbari pickup trucks on the Saravan-Kouhak road led to a fire that claimed the lives of four passengers from the vehicles and injured another.
The deceased Sukhtbars have been identified as Eman Malazehi, 19, son of Nawab, from Deridar village in Saravan; Hadi Vakili, 19, son of Qasem; Azim Vakili, 11, son of Karim Jan; and Mohammad Mashaikhi, 12, son of Aslam, all three were from Kouhak village, part of the Mehregan district of Saravan. The identity of the injured Sukhtbar is currently unknown.
The accident occurred near the Kelleghan village junction on the Saravan-Kouhak road. Following the collision, a fire broke out, causing the tragic fatalities and injuries.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to undertake due to the lack of suitable and sustainable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle rollovers, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the first six months of 2024, at least 133 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, road accidents, and vehicle fires, while 80 others were injured in these incidents, including 9 children.
