The third request for retrial of Parham Parvari, one of the detainees of the Jina revolutionary uprising, has been accepted by the Supreme Court, and his case has been referred to a parallel branch for reconsideration.

According to Kolbarnews, quoting Maziyar Tataei, Parham Parvari’s defense attorney: The third request for retrial of Parham Parvari has been accepted by the reviewing branch of the Supreme Court. With the issued verdict overturned, I hope that the parallel branch will acquit him due to the lack of legal elements for the crime of Moharebeh (waging war against God).
At the end of September 2024, Mr. Parvari’s request for retrial was rejected for the second time by the Supreme Court.
On January 12, 2024, Parham Parvari was transferred from Evin Prison to Iranshahr Prison to serve his sentence of imprisonment and exile.
In June 2023, Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Amouzad, sentenced him to 10 years of exile in Jask Prison (Hormozgan province) and five years of imprisonment. The verdict was later upheld in its entirety by Branch 9 of the Tehran Court of Appeals.
Earlier, Ramin Safarnia, Mr. Parvari’s former attorney, stated regarding the charges against his client: In his last phone call with his father, my client, Parham Parvari, mentioned that he was told the charge of Moharebeh had been dropped, and instead, he was charged with ‘assembly and collusion,’ ‘disturbing public opinion,’ and ‘tampering with license plates.’
There are still no clear details about the specific allegations against Mr. Parvari.
Parham Parvari was arrested on October 4, 2022, during the Jina revolutionary uprising in Tehran. On January 4, 2023, he was transferred from Ward 209 of Evin Prison (controlled by the Ministry of Intelligence) to the Greater Tehran Prison. Finally, on April 9, 2023, without prior notice, he was transferred from Greater Tehran Prison to Ward 6 of Evin Prison.
Parham Parvari, born in 1997, is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Urmia University of Technology, originally from Saqqez but residing in Tehran.
