Saqqez: Killing of Several Kolbar’s Horses by Military Forces

Military forces killed several horses belonging to Kolbars in the Bastam border region of Saqqez.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, September 27, 2024, military forces stationed at the Navkhan checkpoint in the Bastam border region of Saqqez shot and killed at least nine horses belonging to Kolbars.
In addition to killing the horses, the forces caused significant damage to the goods and merchandise carried by the Kolbars.

It is important to note that these pack animals are the sole livelihood of Kolbars and merchants in the border region, as they rely on them to make a living.

This is not the first instance of such violent actions by the military. The brutal killing of Kolbar horses has become a common occurrence in border areas. Environmental activists and local residents have condemned this inhumane act and expressed concern over the continuation of such incidents. Despite widespread protests, border forces continue this illegal and inhumane practice.
