Jina Modares Gorji, a resident of Sanandaj, has been summoned to the Fourth Criminal Enforcement Branch of the Sanandaj Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office to serve her prison sentence.
According to Kolbarnews, the Fourth Criminal Enforcement Branch of the Sanandaj Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office has ordered Jina Modares Gorji to appear on November 2, 2024, to begin serving her sentence. This order was communicated to her on October 22, 2024.
In October of this year, the Fourth Court of Appeals of Kurdistan Province sentenced Jina Modares Gorji to a total of 28 months in prison: one year for the charge of “propaganda against the regime” and 16 months for “forming an illegal group with the aim of overthrowing the regime.” However, she was acquitted of “collaborating with a hostile state.”
Under Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, related to multiple discretionary offenses, only the most severe of the sentences—16 months in prison—will be enforced.
She was originally arrested on April 10, 2023, by intelligence agents and was released on bail on July 3, 2023.
