Sanandaj: Environmental Activist Arrested by Security Forces

Omid Ahmadi, an environmental activist from Sanandaj, has been arrested and taken to an undisclosed location by security forces.

According to KolbarNews, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, security forces in Sanandaj arrested Omid Ahmadi. The report indicates that security personnel detained this environmental activist at his workplace without presenting a judicial warrant. Omid Ahmadi, 30, is a resident of the village of Negel, a suburb of Sanandaj. The reasons for his arrest and the charges against him remain unknown at the time of this report.

It is also noteworthy that on the same day, security forces in Kamyaran arrested at least ten environmental activists following the funeral of the deceased environmental activist Ismail Karimi. The identities of six of these detainees have been confirmed as Hesam Mahdi, Amir Nadimi, Farideh Veysi, Hamid Sabzeh, Amanj Ghorbani, and Farzin Movahedi by KolbarNews.
