Sanandaj: Detention of Kayvan Mohammadi, Justice-Seeking Brother of Executed Kiomars Mohammadi

Kayvan Mohammadi, brother of the late Kiomars Mohammadi, has been in detention for 29 days under the custody of security forces in Sanandaj.

According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, security forces detained 38-year-old Kayvan Mohammadi, a resident of the village of Shian, at the entrance to Sanandaj. Family sources reported that Kayvan confirmed in a phone call that he is currently in custody.

Kayvan Mohammadi is the brother of Kiomars Mohammadi, a 17-year-old who was executed on October 10, 2007, in Sanandaj Central Prison. Kiomars faced charges of “enmity against God” (moharebeh) due to alleged membership in a Kurdish opposition party.
