Sanandaj: Binyamin Rahimpour Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Binyamin Rahimpour, a resident of Sanandaj and former political prisoner, has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj.

According to Kolbarews, Binyami Rahimpour, 35-year-old father of two, originally from Avihang village, was convicted on charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “propaganda in favor of a Kurdish opposition party.” His trial was held on February 11, 2025, in Branch One of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, and the verdict was issued on February 15.

Rahimpour was initially arrested on January 21, 2025, when security forces raided his workplace, detaining him with violence and transferring him to the Shahramfar Intelligence Detention Center. He was denied access to legal representation and family visits during his detention.

After 19 days in custody, he was temporarily released on February 8, 2025, upon posting bail of 5 billion rials in the form of a shop deed.
