Arslan Divargar, a citizen from the city of Divandarreh and resident of Sanandaj, has been sentenced to 36 months of imprisonment by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to Kolbarnews, in recent days, Arslan Divargar, a 48-year-old citizen from the city of Divandarreh and resident of Sanandaj, has been sentenced to imprisonment by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Based on this report, Mr. Divargar was sentenced by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj to 36 months of imprisonment on charges of “espionage,” with the sentence suspended for three years.
Arslan Divargar was summoned to the Intelligence Department of Sanandaj on Thursday, September 28, 2023, following a phone call, interrogated, and arrested at 7 p.m. the same day without any explanation. Finally, on Wednesday, October 17, 2023, he was temporarily released from Sanandaj Central Prison on a bail of 500 million tomans, pending the completion of judicial proceedings.
Arslan Divargar, 46 years old, a native of Divandarreh and one of those arrested during the nationwide protests of 2022, was temporarily released from Sanandaj Central Prison after over 50 days of detention in 2022 on a bail of one billion tomans, pending the completion of judicial proceedings. On Saturday, January 7, 2023, Arslan Divargar was re-arrested after being summoned to the Intelligence Department of Divandarreh and, after initial interrogations, was transferred from the Intelligence Department of Divandarreh to the Intelligence Department of Sanandaj.
Previously, “Rafiq Divargar,” Arslan’s brother, was arrested on December 22, 2022, and released on December 28, 2022, after 27 days on bail.
