Sanandaj: Arrest of Two Labor Activists and Anti-Execution Campaign Members

Amjad Garyakhiz and Naeem Doosti, two labor activists and members of the Anti-Execution Campaign, were arrested by security forces in Sanandaj for participating in the general strike in Kurdish cities.

According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the two activists, who work at a confectionery workshop, were detained on the street by security forces without a judicial warrant. The arrests were reportedly due to their participation in the general strike protesting executions in Kurdish cities.

At the time of this report, no information is available regarding the charges against them or their whereabouts.

Amjad Garyakhiz has previously faced summons and interrogation by security forces due to his activities in the Anti-Execution Campaign, particularly during protests against the execution of Ramin Hosseinpanahi.
