Salas-Babajani: Violent Arrest of a Citizen by Security Forces

Hamed Rezaei, a 25-year-old resident of Salas-Babajani, was violently arrested and tortured by security forces after posting a story on Instagram about the deaths of Supreme Court judges. He was later abandoned at a hospital by the authorities.

According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, Hamed Rezaei, a resident of the village of Bani Sakan in Salas-Babajani County, was arrested and beaten by security forces for sharing an Instagram story about the deaths of Supreme Court judges on a page he co-administered. Reports state that Hamed, traveling with his family to Javanroud, was violently arrested mid-journey by security agents in front of his mother and sister.

He was then transferred to the Intelligence Protection Detention Center of the IRGC, where he was tortured to the point of losing his ability to speak.

The security forces subsequently transferred Hamed to a hospital in Salas Babajani and informed his family that he was there. A close source stated that Hamed is in poor mental condition and still unable to speak.

The arrest was conducted without a judicial warrant. Hamed Rezaei has a history of being summoned by security agencies.
