A father and son from Salas Babajani were assaulted by border forces at the Sheikh Saleh border.
According to Kolbarnews on Saturday, April 13, border forces assaulted a father and son in the border strip of Sheikh Saleh. The identities of these two citizens, Fares Rezayi and his son Idris Rezayi, are from the village of Qalicheh in the suburbs of Three Babajani.
In the past couple of months, we have witnessed an increase in violence by border forces against Kolbars in the border regions of Kurdistan. This violence has led to an unprecedented increase in the number of killed and injured Kolbars.
Meanwhile, Iraqi border forces (Border Guard) have also increased pressure on Kolbars on both sides of the Kurdistan border in coordination with Iranian border forces. In recent weeks, numerous reports of assault and harassment of Kolbars by border guard forces have been published.
The people of Kurdistan, under the shadow of difficult economic, political, and social conditions imposed on them by the central governments of Iran and Iraq, are facing a complex form of exploitation. The consequences of this exploitation have led to a significant number of people in this region resorting to the deadly phenomenon of Kolbari to sustain their livelihoods. But apparently, this suffering and hardship alone were not enough, as we are now witnessing the blatant complicity of central governments on both sides of the Kurdistan borders with the aim of systematic killing and destruction of these people.
