On the morning of Sunday, April 6, 2025, a collision between a Sukhtbari pickup truck and a Pride vehicle transporting teachers on the Rigan–Narmashir road resulted in injuries to seven individuals, including a Sukhtbar.

According to Kolbarnews, the Pride vehicle was carrying six teachers from Bam, who regularly commute to Rigan for teaching. All six teachers and the Sukhtbar were injured and subsequently transferred to Pasteur Hospital in Bam for medical treatment.
This accident highlights the risks faced by both educators and informal workers, especially in under-resourced and high-traffic areas such as southeastern Iran.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
