The lawyers of Sharifeh Mohammadi, a labor activist and former member of the Committee for the Coordination of Labor Organizations, have announced that her death sentence has been reinstated.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, her lawyers, Mohammad Reza Nazari-Nejad and Mohammad Reza Sarvari, confirmed the reissuance of the death penalty. This decision comes despite the Supreme Court overturning her previous death sentence in October 2024.
Sharifeh Mohammadi was arrested in December 2023 by security forces and was held in various detention centers for an extended period, reportedly enduring torture and mistreatment. In July 2024, Branch 1 of the Rasht Revolutionary Court sentenced her to death on charges of “Baghi” (armed rebellion).
This news follows the Supreme Court’s recent confirmation of the death sentence for Pakhsan Azizi, a social worker. The increasing number of death sentences against civil and labor activists in Iran has raised serious human rights concerns.
