Two Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to a collision between two Sukhtbari vehicles at the Pishen Dam intersection in Rask County.
According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Tuesday, July 9, 2024, a collision between a Saipa and a Land Cruiser vehicle at the Pishen Dam intersection in Rask County led to the death of two Baloch Sukhtbars.
The identities of these individuals are “Yaser Balochzehi,” approximately 19 years old, from the village of Malekabad in Sarbaz County, and “Gaderbakhsh Balochkhah,” approximately 50 years old, from the village of Gazmanzel in Chabahar County.
According to this report, the two vehicles caught fire after colliding at the Pishen Dam intersection, and both individuals perished in the flames.
Sukhtbari is considered an unconventional and hazardous job that many Baluch people in Baluchistan are forced into due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle rollovers, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that Sukhtbars face.
According to reports from Baluch activists, in the first six months of 2024, at least 133 Baluch Sukhtbars have died from shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, with another 80 injured in these incidents, including nine children.
