Rask: Massive Fire at Fuel Depot

A large fire broke out at several fuel storage sites in the Nazrabad Kargah area of Rask County, exacerbated by the lack of firefighting equipment.

According to Kolbernews, on the evening of Sunday, February 2, 2025, a massive fire engulfed multiple fuel storage sites in Nazrabad Kargah village. The lack of proper firefighting facilities and delays in the fire department’s response worsened the situation.

Local sources report that despite repeated calls, firefighters stated they needed over 30 minutes to reach the site, while the flames continued to spread rapidly.

The absence of proper fire suppression infrastructure in the region has led to severe damage in similar incidents, raising concerns among local residents.

Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
