Piranshahr: Arrest of “Taha Rasoulian” for Imprisonment

Taha Rasoulian, was arrested and transferred to the central prison of Naqadeh to serve his prison sentence.

According to Kolbarnews, On Saturday, August 3, 2024, Taha Rasoulian, an artist from Piranshahr, after appearing at the Piranshahr Court’s execution of sentences branch, was arrested and transferred to the central prison of Naqadeh to serve his sentence.

Mr. Rasoulian was sentenced by Branch 1 of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Ojaqloo, to a total of 7 years and 10 months of imprisonment on charges of “membership in one of the opposition parties” and “acting against national security.” However, due to the aggregation of sentences law, only the severest penalty of 3 years and 7 months will be enforced.

Additionally, in another case handled by Branch 102 of the Piranshahr Revolutionary Court, Taha Rasoulian was sentenced to 3 months of imprisonment and 40 lashes for “disturbing public order.”

Security forces of the regime had previously arrested Taha Rasoulian without presenting a judicial warrant on January 18, 2023, during the Zhina uprising and temporarily released him on bail on February 21 of the same year.
