Oshnavieh: Samad Shabouei Re-Arrested and Transferred to Urmia Prison

Samad Shabouei, a resident of Shahvaneh village near Oshnavieh, was re-arrested after being summoned to the Revolutionary Court in Urmia and subsequently transferred to the city’s prison.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, August 12, 2024, 39-year-old Samad Shabouei was detained after appearing in the Urmia Revolutionary Court and was then transferred to Urmia Prison. The specific charges against him remain unknown at the time of this report.

Samad Shabouei had previously been arrested on Monday, August 20, 2024, after being summoned to the Intelligence Office in Oshnavieh and was taken to an undisclosed location. He was eventually released temporarily on March 12, 2024, after posting bail of 3 billion tomans, pending the completion of legal proceedings. It’s also noted that after about two months of interrogation at the Urmia Intelligence Office’s detention center, he was transferred to Urmia Central Prison and was denied access to his appointed lawyer.
