Oshnavieh: Release of Loqman Zangi on Bail

Loqman Zangi, a resident of Oshnavieh, has been temporarily released from prison after posting bail of 200 million tomans, pending the completion of legal proceedings.

According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, Loqman Zangi, a resident of the village of “Kani-Sork” near Oshnavieh, was released from the city’s prison after posting the bail.

The report states that after completing his interrogation in one of Urmia’s security detention centers, Zangi was transferred to Oshnavieh prison. During his detention, he was denied access to a lawyer and contact with his family.

Loqman Zangi had been arrested on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, by Oshnavieh security forces without a judicial warrant and taken to an undisclosed location. As of the time of reporting, the reasons for his arrest and the charges against him remain unknown.
