Nowsud; Identification of Several Injured Kolbars Following Border Guards’ Shooting

Last night, as a result of shooting by border guards at the Nowsud border, at least 8 Kolbars were injured, and the identities of some of them have been confirmed by Kolbarnews.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Monday, April 29, 2024, as a result of direct shooting by border guards at the Nowsud border strip towards a group of Kolbars, at least eight Kolbars were injured. The identities of several of these injured Kolbars confirmed by Kolbarnews include Mohammad Mohammadi from Shushemi, Ayoub (last name unspecified) from Javanroud, Khalil Mohammadi from Salas Babajani, and Mahan Moradi, an 18-year-old student from javanroud. It is worth noting that the injured Kolbars have been transferred to Hospital in Paveh for treatment, and the condition of Mohammad Mohammadi is reported to be critical.

According to another report, simultaneously, two Kolbar identified as Vazir (last name unspecified), 38 years old and married, and Mohammad Moradi, both from Javanroud, were detained by border guards at the Nowsud border for several hours and then released.

According to the statistics recorded in Kolbarnews in the year 1402, a total of 444 Kolbars in the border areas and inter-provincial routes between West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, and Kermanshah provinces were killed or injured due to factors such as direct shooting by regime military forces, avalanches, frostbite, stepping on mines, falling from mountains and heights, and other causes. Out of this total number, 44 Kolbars were killed, equivalent to 10%, and 400 Kolbars were injured, equivalent to 90%. Out of the total 444 Kolbars killed or injured in the year 1402, a total of 373 cases, equivalent to 84%, were due to direct shooting by military forces.
Additionally, out of the total 444 Kolbars killed or injured in the border strip of Kurdistan in the year 1402, 37 of them are children under 18 years old.
In the year 1402, we witnessed a 90% increase in the killing and injuring of Kolbars in the border strip of Kurdistan.
