Nikshahr: Two Sukhtbars Killed and One Citizen Injured in Traffic Accident

Two Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives and another citizen was injured following a car crash and subsequent fire on the Sarbaz–Nikshahr road.

According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, April 19, 2025, a Sukhtbari Land Cruiser collided with a Pride vehicle on the Sarbaz to Nikshahr route near the village of Potan.
The crash led to a fire in which both Baloch Sukhtbars in the Land Cruiser were killed, and another person was injured.

Local sources reported that the Land Cruiser, which was transporting fuel, caught fire after the collision. Both occupants, identified as Baloch Sukhtbars, were trapped in the flames and lost their lives. The driver of the Pride vehicle sustained serious injuries in the accident.

One of the deceased Sukhtbars been identified as Mohsen Dehghan Ban, 25 years old, son of Allahbakhsh, from the village of Gornag in Kishkur district of Sarbaz County.
The identity of the second Sukhtbar and the injured individual had not been determined at the time of this report.

Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
