Miandoab: Death of a Worker and Injury of a Child Laborer

During construction work in a two-story building in Miandoab, a worker died and a child laborer was injured.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, May 27, 2024, a 50-year-old worker named Motaleb Qaderi from the village of Shinabad lost his life in a workplace accident, and his 17-year-old son, Sanyar Qaderi, who was working as a child laborer on the project, was severely injured and transferred to the hospital.

The accident occurred while they were performing construction work on a two-story building. Unfortunately, Motaleb Qaderi died after falling from a lift, and reports indicate that Sanyar Qaderi’s condition is critical.

It is worth noting that in the year 2023, a total of 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) lost their lives due to work-related accidents in Iran, which is an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year when the death toll was 1,900.

Iran ranks 102nd in the world for workplace safety, which is a very low ranking.
