According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, January 26, 2025, Parvin Edevaei, a civil activist in Marivan, was arrested by the city’s security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.
Parvin Edevaei has been active in women’s and children’s rights in recent years and was previously arrested by security forces in 2019.
During her first arrest, she was charged by the Revolutionary Court of Marivan with “acting against national security and collaborating with a Kurdish party” and sentenced to five years of imprisonment. This sentence was later reduced to one year by the Kurdistan Provincial Court of Appeals.
