Marivan: Adel Pirouzi Sentenced to One Year in Prison

The one-year prison sentence of Adel Pirouzi, a resident of Marivan, has been upheld by the Kurdistan Provincial Court of Appeals.

According to Kolbarnews, Adel Pirouzi was convicted by the Marivan Revolutionary Court on charges of “propaganda against the regime in favor of one of the opposition parties” and sentenced to one year of imprisonment. This verdict was recently confirmed without any changes by the Kurdistan Appeals Court.

On November 20, 2023, Adel Pirouzi was summoned and arrested by the Intelligence Office in Marivan. He was subsequently transferred to the Intelligence Detention Center in Sanandaj for interrogation. After completing the interrogation process, he was moved to Marivan Prison. Pirouzi was eventually released on bail on January 14, 2024.
