Suleiman Salak, a resident of Mahabad, was arrested after appearing at the Mahabad Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office and transferred to the city’s prison to serve his sentence.
According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, August 24, 2024, Suleiman Salak was arrested and taken to Mahabad Prison. His arrest followed his appearance at the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Mahabad for the enforcement of his prison sentence. He was then transferred to Mahabad Prison.
In May of this year, Suleiman Salak was sentenced by Branch 102 of the Piranshahr Criminal Court to ten years in prison on the charge of “suspicion of collaboration with groups opposing the regime” and one year for “membership in one of the opposition parties.” However, his sentence was later reduced to one-fourth following a submission to the ruling.
Suleiman Salak had previously been arrested and faced judicial proceedings due to his activities.
