Baham Nabi-Zadegan and Seyed Taha Razi, two workers from the cities of Oshnavieh and Mahabad, lost their lives due to unsafe working conditions.
According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, October 20, 2024, Bahman Nabi-Zadegan, a construction worker from the village of Sengan in Oshnavieh, died at in Urmia after sustaining severe injuries at his workplace. He had fallen from a height on Friday, October 18, due to a lack of safety measures at his job site.
In a separate incident on the same day, Seyed Taha Razi, a worker at a poultry farm in Mahabad, died from electrocution. Razi, a married man with two children, was from the village of Owzentash in Mahabad.
It is worth noting that, in 2023, workplace accidents claimed the lives of 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) in Iran, marking an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year. Iran ranks 102nd globally in workplace safety standards, making it one of the most dangerous countries for workers, with many accidents occurring annually due to the lack of safety measures.
