Kurdistan; At Least 16 Kolbars, Including Two Children, Injured and Detained in 48 Hours

Within the past two days, at least 16 Kolbars, including two children, were injured and detained in the border areas of Kurdistan.

According to Kolbarnews, within 48 hours, at least 14 Kolbars, including two child Kolbars aged 16, were injured in border areas such as Nowsud, Banah, and Marivan, and two other Kolbars were detained. It is worth mentioning that all Kolbar injuries occurred as a result of direct shooting by border guards using Kalashnikov and shotgun weapons.

On the evening of Sunday, April 28, 2024, due to shooting by border guards at the Nowsud border, two child Kolbars aged 16 were severely injured.
The identities of these two Kolbars are reported as Parsa Hosseini from the village of Balbazan and Sahand (last name unspecified) from the village of Darebian, both from the vicinity of Paveh. Parsa was hit by a bullet from a Kalashnikov in the thigh, while Sahand was injured by Shotgun in the back and hip areas. The condition of these two children is critical. Simultaneously, another young Kolbar from Javanroud was also injured in the shoulder, and his identity remains unknown to Kolbarnews.

On Sunday, April 28, 2024, in the border strip of HangeJal Banah, another Kolbar, identified as Mehran Bahrami, 25 years old and from the city of Saqqez, was injured due to direct shooting by border guards.

Moreover, on the evening of Monday, April 29, 2024, as a result of direct shooting by border guards at the Nowsud border, at least eight Kolbars were severely injured: Mohammad Mohammadi from Shushemi, Ayoub (last name unspecified) from Javanroud, Khalil Mohammadi from Salas Babajani, and Mahan Moradi, an 18-year-old student from Javanroud. It is reported that the injured Kolbars were transferred to Hospital in Paveh for treatment, and Mohammad Mohammadi’s condition is reported to be critical.

In another incident, on Tuesday afternoon, the 10th of Ordibehesht 1403, border guards at the Hangjal Banah border shot a porter identified as Milad (last name unspecified), 19 years old from the village of Kokh Sheikh al-Islam in Alut district, Banah, with a Kalashnikov. This porter was severely injured in the knee.

Additionally, on Monday evening, April 29, 2024, a young Kolbar named Nima Almasi from Salas Babajani was severely injured in the hip, back, and hand areas due to shooting by military forces with Shotgun weapons at the Nowsud border.

Simultaneously, two other Kolbars identified as Vazir (last name unspecified), 38 years old and married, and Mohammad Moradi, both from Javanroud, were detained by border guards at the Nowsud for several hours and then released.
