Free People of Kurdistan,
The Islamic Republic of Iran, drowning in deep and multifaceted crises, is once again intensifying repression and issuing execution sentences, including for two Kurdish political prisoners, Pakhshan Azizi and Verisha Moradi. These actions aim to silence popular protests. The issuance and implementation of these sentences are stark symbols of the systematic violence and desperation of a regime that has lost the ability to govern and seeks its survival through brutal repression.
However, this oppressive policy has faced a wave of protests and resistance across the country. Political prisoners, teachers and retirees, labor and trade unions, civil activists, and freedom-loving citizens have demonstrated through statements, strikes, and protests that society no longer tolerates violence and suppression. This widespread solidarity sends a clear message to the regime: the era of oppression is over.
In this context, the call for a general strike on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in Kurdistan is a courageous and effective step in opposing repressive policies and fighting for the abolition of inhumane execution sentences. This action marks another proud chapter in the history of Kurdistan’s revolutionary and freedom-seeking struggles.
Kolbarnews fully supports this call and invites all sectors of society workers, women, youth, tradespeople, merchants, students, teachers, and advocates for freedom and equality to join this general strike and demonstrate their determination and protest.
This strike is a symbol of the solidarity and power of the freedom-loving people of Kurdistan against oppression and injustice.
