A road accident on the Kohnooj-Chah-Rigan route led to the death of a Sukhtbar and injuries to three other individuals.
According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, March 1, 2025, a Samand sedan carrying fuel collided with a Peugeot pickup truck on the Kohnooj-Chah-Rigan road. The crash resulted in the death of at least one Sukhtbar and left three others injured.
The deceased Sukhtbar been identified as Abdulhamid Raisi, a resident of Kojak village, located in Kohnooj County.
Reports indicate that the collision caused both vehicles to catch fire, and due to severe injuries and inability to escape, Abdulhamid Raisi tragically lost his life in the flames.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children
