A teenage Sukhtbar lost his life after his Sukhtbari vehicle overturned and caught fire on the Kahnooj-Islamabad road.
According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Friday, February 21, 2025, a young Baloch Sukhtbar died when his vehicle overturned and burst into flames on the Kahnooj-Islamabad route.
Reports indicate that the accident occurred when the Sukhtbari vehicle veered off the road for unknown reasons and overturned.
The severity of the crash caused the vehicle to ignite, trapping the occupant inside. The deceased Sukhtbar, identified as “Vahid” (last name unknown), was unable to escape due to the intensity of the fire and succumbed to his injuries.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
