Kermanshah: Death of Two Workers Due to Crane Collapse

In the absence of workplace safety measures and under unsuitable working conditions, two workers in Kermanshah lost their lives while on the job.

According to Kolbarnews, two construction workers died yesterday while working on a building in Kermanshah. The incident occurred due to the collapse of a tower crane, which fell on the workers, leading to their death. The exact cause of the incident and details surrounding the crane’s failure are under investigation.

In 2023, workplace accidents claimed the lives of 2,115 workers in Iran (2,094 men and 21 women), representing an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year’s total of 1,900 fatalities.

Iran ranks 102nd globally in workplace safety, a notably low position, making it one of the most unsafe countries in terms of occupational safety. Each year, a significant number of workers suffer accidents due to the lack of adequate safety measures.
