Kermanshah: Death of a Worker Due to Lack of Workplace Safety

Amid unsafe working conditions and inadequate workplace safety measures, a construction worker from Kamiyaran lost his life after falling from a building in Kermanshah.

According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, a facade worker died following a fall from a building due to the lack of safety standards at the construction site.
The identity of the worker, Mohammad Jamil Ghorbani, from the village of Bazoosh, a suburb of Kamiyaran, has been confirmed by Kolbarnews.

In total, during the year 2023, 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) lost their lives in workplace accidents—a 11.3% increase compared to the previous year, which recorded 1,900 fatalities.

Iran ranks 102nd globally in workplace safety standards, a very low ranking. The country is considered one of the most hazardous for workers, with a significant number of incidents occurring each year due to inadequate safety measures.
