Kamiyaran: Planting of 500 Ash Tree Saplings in Marab to Protest Mine Construction

In a symbolic act to defend the environment, the residents of Marab village and environmental activists planted over 500 ash tree saplings in the village’s natural surroundings.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, January 3, 2025, the villagers and environmental advocates came together to plant the saplings as a protest against plans to construct a mine in the area. The event was accompanied by the slogan, “Do not destroy the environment for profit.”

By planting these trees, the villagers and nature lovers expressed their opposition to the mine project and emphasized the importance of preserving the environment. They aim to create a small forested area and restore the region’s nature. They believe the mine’s development will severely damage the pristine environment and local wildlife, leading to irreversible consequences.

It is worth noting that the ash tree is native to the region and plays a critical role in soil conservation, preventing erosion, and providing habitat for wildlife. The planting of these trees reflects the commitment of the villagers and environmental activists to protecting the environment and the natural heritage of the area.
