Kamiyaran: Lack of Workplace Safety Leads to Death of a Worker

Hassan Na’mati, a construction worker from Kamiyaran, lost his life due to unsafe working conditions and a fall from height.

According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, Hassan Na’mati, a construction worker, died from severe injuries sustained in a workplace accident. The incident occurred as a result of inadequate safety measures, leading to his fall from a height.

The report highlights that workplace accidents claimed the lives of 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) in 2023, marking an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year, when 1,900 workers died. Iran ranks 102nd globally in terms of workplace safety, a very low ranking, making it one of the most dangerous countries for workers. Many workers in Iran suffer accidents annually due to the lack of proper safety measures at their workplaces.
