Iraj Mohammadzadeh, a journalist from the city of Javanroud, has been sentenced to two years of suspended imprisonment by the judiciary.
According to Kolbarnews, on May 13, 2024, the court session for Iraj Mohammadzadeh, a journalist and reporter from Javanroud, was held by Branch 101 of the Javanroud Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Hadi Cheraghi.
Iraj Mohammadzadeh was sentenced to two years of suspended imprisonment on charges of “spreading false information” and “disturbing public opinion.” The court session was conducted without the presence of his defense attorney.
Initially, Iraj Mohammadzadeh was sentenced to three months of actual imprisonment, but the sentence was later changed to two years of suspended imprisonment.
Iraj Mohammadzadeh was arrested by security forces in Javanrud on April 7, 2024, and transferred to an undisclosed location.
He was temporarily released after one day on bail of 500 million tomans pending the completion of the judicial process.
