A worker fell from the third floor of a building in West Islamabad while installing gas pipes and died.
According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, June 22, 2024, a young worker fell from the third floor of a building in West-Islamabad while installing gas pipes and lost his life.
Reports indicate that the worker was around 26 years old and fell due to not using safety equipment.
The severity of the injuries was such that he died instantly.
This incident follows another accident on Saturday, where an explosion at a “grease production” factory in the first industrial town of Torbate Heydarieh injured six workers.
The Forensic Medicine Organization announced that in 2023, 2,115 workers died in work-related accidents.
However, Ahmad Parandeh, Director General of Inspection at the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare, claims that the mortality rate from work-related accidents has decreased by 7.5% compared to 2022.
He explains the discrepancy between the forensic statistics and the labor inspection statistics by stating, “The reason for the difference between the forensic statistics and the labor inspectors’ statistics is that all workers who are self-employed insured or considered state employees and outside the scope of labor law are not included in our statistics of work-related accidents concerning workers.”
