According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the identity of three Sukhtbars who lost their lives due to the collision of two vehicles, a Peugeot 405 and a Pride, on the Iranshahr road to Sarbaz, which caught fire and killed three of their passengers in the flames, was verified. The identities of these deceased Sukhtbars are “Yasin Yadegari (Shahlibar)” and his son “Behnam Yadegari (Shahlibar),” both from Iranshahr County, and “Munir Dashti,” known as Samir, son of Wahid, from the village of Rahmatabad Zardkuh, a suburb of Sarbaz County, and a resident of Mohammadabad, Iranshahr.
According to this report, this incident occurred near the village of Rahmanabad and between Bandaman and Pahreh (Iranshahr) on the transportation route to Sarbaz, and as a result of the car fires, the passengers inside lost their lives in the fire.
Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have resorted to out of lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturning, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars in this profession. According to reports from Baloch activists in 2023, at least 172 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, and 42 others were injured in these incidents, including 11 children.
