Iranshahr: Death of a Young Worker Due to Lack of Workplace Safety

A young worker lost his life after falling from a building while working in Iranshahr.

According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, a young worker named “Moein Ayeen,” 22 years old and a resident of Iranshahr, died due to a fall from an under-construction building.

Based on the report, Moein was working on an upper floor of the building when the accident occurred, and he succumbed to his injuries due to their severity. It is reported that the employer of this worker had failed to provide any safety equipment, including helmets, at the workplace.

It is worth noting that a total of 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) lost their lives in work-related accidents in 2023. This marks an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year, when the death toll was 1,900. Iran ranks 102nd globally in terms of workplace safety standards, a very low position.
