Parham Parvari, a Kurdish political prisoner and one of those arrested during the Jina uprising, has been tortured and beaten in Iranshahr Prison.
According to Kolbarnews, citing the personal account of his mother, Parham Parvari, a political prisoner from Saqqez, was arrested by security forces in Tehran during the Jina uprising. In Iranshahr Prison, he has been subjected to assault and abuse by inmates from the section housing prisoners convicted of serious crimes and drug offenses. The prison’s security authorities have shown indifference to the situation.
Despite the fact that Parvari’s charges are political, he is serving his sentence in the “serious crimes and drug offenses” section.
Parham Parvari was sentenced by Branch 28 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Amouzad, to five years of imprisonment and ten years of exile.
A graduate in mechanical engineering and a national and provincial swimming champion, Parvari was arrested in Tehran on October 4, 2022, during the Jina revolutionary uprising. Initially, he was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison, later moved to the Greater Tehran Prison, and eventually sent to Ward 6 of Evin Prison earlier this year.
