Ilam: Environmental Activist Sentenced to Prison

Arman Shadivand, an environmental activist from Darreh Shahr, Ilam province, has been sentenced to 24 months of imprisonment.

According to Kolbernews, Shadivand was recently sentenced by the Islamic Republic’s judicial system. The verdict was issued by Branch 2 of the Ilam Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Dariush Piri. Based on the ruling:

He received 8 months of imprisonment for “propaganda against the regime.”

He was sentenced to 16 months for “insulting Khamenei.”

Previously, on Sunday, November 24, 2024, Shadivand was summoned to Branch 2 of the Darreh Shahr Prosecutor’s Office and arrested. He was later released on bail after one day of detention, pending the completion of legal proceedings.
