Gilan: Five women Activists Sentenced to a Total of 23 Years in Prison

Five women activists from Gilan have been sentenced to a total of 23 years in prison by the Revolutionary Court of Rasht.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, August 12, 2024, Nina Golestani, Rozita Rajayi, Anahita Hajazi, Negin Edalatkhah, and Anahita Dustdar were each sentenced by the Third Branch of the Rasht Revolutionary Court to three years, six months, and one day in prison for “assembly and collusion,” and an additional seven months and sixteen days for “propaganda against the regime.”

These women activists were arrested on November 11, 2023, during raids by security forces at their homes. They were later temporarily released from Lakan Prison in Rasht after posting bail, pending the completion of their trials.
