Fifteen female political prisoners in the women’s ward of Evin Prison have been denied the right to visit and contact their families due to their protest against the execution of Reza Rasaei and the subsequent crackdowns.
According to Kolbarnews, since August 6, 2024, the Evin Prison Disciplinary Committee has prohibited 15 female political prisoners from having phone calls or visits with their families. This action followed the women’s protest on August 6 against the execution of Reza Rasaei, a detainee from the Jina revolutionary movement, and the violent response by security forces against them.
The crackdown left several of the women injured, and approximately 30 of them were initially banned from contact and visitation rights. While some have since regained these rights after protesting the decision, 15 women remain under this restriction.
According to the order, Pakhshan Azizi and Elaheh Fooladi have been denied contact and visitation for 3 months. Narges Mohammadi, Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee, Samaneh Asghari, Anisha Asadollahi, Mahboubeh Rezaei, Varishe Moradi, and Reyhaneh Ansari Nejad have been restricted for 2 months, while Pari Vash Mousavi, Nasrin Khazri Javad, Zahra Safaei, Maryam Yahyavi, Sarina Jahani, and Sanaz Yekta are facing a 1-month ban on phone calls and family visits.
