A Baloch child lost his life due to drowning in the river Esfand in Delgan county.
According to Kolbarnews on Thursday, April 18, 2024, a child drowned in the river Esfand in Delgan county. The identity of this child is “Mohammad Chakeri,” a 10-year-old son of Yaqoub from the village of Esfand in Delgan county.
According to the report, this child went to the river Esfand to watch the flood when he fell into it. His body was discovered by local people near the Hashem wells plain after falling into the river.
Hootak, or hootag, is a dug pit used for storing water, primarily for agricultural purposes, but in recent years, due to the water crisis in Balochistan, people have been using hootak water for drinking and household purposes.
According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, in 2023 alone, a total of 98 cases of child rights violations have been recorded in Balochistan. At least 27 children have been killed, 17 children injured, 3 children have drowned, 38 children have been detained, and tragically, one child bride has been killed by gunshot.
