According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, October 18, 2024, a collision between a fuel tanker and a Samand Sukhtbari in Delgan County led to a fire. The driver of the Samand was killed in the flames, and one of the tanker passengers was injured.
The deceased Sukhtbar has been identified as Vahid Shahlibar, while the identity of the injured person remains unknown at the time of reporting.
Local sources report that the accident occurred around noon when a fuel tanker, belonging to a Delgan gas station, collided with the Samand Sukhtbari. The impact caused the Sukhtbar to catch fire, resulting in the death of its driver, while a passenger in the tanker was injured.
Sukhtbari is considered an unconventional and hazardous job that many Baluch people in Baluchistan are forced into due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle rollovers, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that Sukhtbars face. According to reports from Baluch activists, in the first six months of 2024, at least 133 Baluch Sukhtbars have died from shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, with another 80 injured in these incidents, including nine children.
