Amir Raisiyan, the lawyer for “Toomaj Salehi,” announced that the Supreme Court has overturned the death sentence of this protest rap singer.
According to Kolbarnews, Amir Raisiyan stated that the Supreme Court’s Branch 39 ruling on the appeal has overturned Toomaj Salehi’s death sentence and referred the case to an equivalent court for reconsideration.
On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Branch 1 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Isfahan had issued the death sentence for Toomaj Salehi, the imprisoned artist.
Raisiyan, Salehi’s lawyer, had described the ruling as containing evident legal contradictions and announced his intention to appeal.
