Due to the absence of safety standards in workplaces, in recent days three workers have lost their lives in the cities of Ahvaz, Isfahan, and Ilam.

According to Kolbarnews, in an incident that occurred on the evening of Friday, June 6, 2025, in Ahvaz, a 58-year-old construction worker fell from the seventh floor to the minus two level of a building under construction while performing welding work. He died after being transferred to the hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
In Isfahan, a female engineer named Hakimeh Panahi died after falling into an elevator shaft while supervising the execution of a construction project on Mehregan Street.
According to reports, this incident occurred due to the lack of necessary safety measures at the site.
Also in Ilam, a worker who had sustained severe burns on May 31, 2025, following an explosion and eruption of molten material at a metal smelting unit located in the city’s industrial zone, died after being hospitalized for five days.
It is worth noting that in the year 2024–2025, at least 2,042 workers lost their lives due to workplace accidents, and at least 16,113 workers were injured as a result of workplace incidents.
Iran ranks 102nd in the world in terms of compliance with workplace safety standards, a very low position globally.
