Two Baluch Sukhtbars died in a head-on collision in Rimdan border of Dashtyari County, consumed by the ensuing flames.
According to Kolbarnews, on July 4, 2024, two Baluch Sukhtbar lost their lives in a traffic accident at the Rimdan border.
The identities of the two deceased Sukhtbars have been confirmed as “Shahi Kalemati,” from Rimdan, and “Rezwan Gergij,” from the village of Bel in Dashtyari County.
A source informed local sources: “At 5:15 AM, the vehicles of Shahi and Rezwan collided head-on on the Bahoor route at the Rimdan border, causing the vehicles to catch fire.”
The source added, “Due to the injuries sustained in the collision and the subsequent fire, Shahi and Rezwan were unable to exit their vehicles and perished in the flames.”
Sukhtbari is considered an unconventional and hazardous job that many Baluch people in Baluchistan are forced into due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle rollovers, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that Sukhtbars face.
According to reports from Baluch activists, in the first six months of 2024, at least 133 Baluch Sukhtbars have died from shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, with another 80 injured in these incidents, including nine children.
