Naval forces, during an attack on Khor Kalani in Dashtiari, opened fire, confiscated seven Sukhtbari boats, and detained seven citizens.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, January 28, 2025, naval forces attacked the Khor Kalani area in Dashtyari County, firing at motorboats used by Sukhtbars. In this operation, seven boats were seized, and at least seven Baloch citizens were detained.
The identities of the detained Sukhtbars have not been disclosed at the time of this report, but it is said that they were all captains of the Sukhtbari boats.

According to reports, military forces entered the area by land and sea, conducting aerial fire and sometimes direct shooting at the Sukhtbars.

Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
