Dehgolan; Issuance of a five-year prison sentence for Kamal Lotfi, a member of the families of ‘plaintiffs’.

Kamal Lotfi, a member of the families of the plaintiffs of the Jina revolution in Dehgolan city, has been sentenced to five years in prison.

According to Kolbarnews, Kamal Lotfi, the father of Reza Lotfi, one of the martyrs of the Jina uprising in Dehgolan city, has been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of this city. He was sentenced to one year in prison for “propaganda against the regime,” two years for “insulting the Supreme Leader,” and two years for “insulting the founder of the Islamic Republic (Khomeini).” Of these sentences, the harshest, which is two years, will be enforced in accordance with Article 510 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

It should be noted that Kamal Lotfi was detained after being summoned to the Revolutionary Court of Qorveh city on April 9, 2024. As of the preparation of this report, there is no information available about his whereabouts.

On July 4, 2023, Kamal Lotfi, the father of Reza Lotfi, was temporarily released from prison until the end of the trial process.

Mr. Lotfi was also detained by undercover security forces on April 17, 2023, and transferred to Kamiaran prison, where he was eventually released on bail pending trial. During his detention, due to deteriorating health conditions, he was transferred to Tohid Hospital in Sanandaj and then returned to Kamiaran prison without completing his treatment. In protest against his situation, on May 18, 2023, he went on a hunger strike in Kamiaran prison.

Reza Lotfi, 20 years old, was shot dead by security forces during the Jina revolution in Dehgolan county on September 19, 2022.
