According to Kolbarnews, a group of labor activists and workers in the city of Sanandaj organized an event to commemorate International Workers’ Day at one of the workshops in Industrial Town No. 1 in Sanandaj. The ceremony began with a minute of silence to honor the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for freedom and socialism. The silence was broken with the recitation of a poem by one of the workers present at the ceremony. Following that, one of the dismissed teachers from the 1980 Sanandaj uprising delivered a speech about the history and significance of International Workers’ Day, congratulating all the workers of the companies. Additionally, the memory of “Toufiq Dabbaghian,” a dismissed teacher who had been a supporter and helper of the deprived working class of Kurdistan for years, was honored in the ceremony.
The event concluded with the distribution of flowers and sweets among the attending workers.
